Yercaud is a hill station in Salem, district of Tamil Nadu, South India.At a height of 4,970 feet on the Shevaroy Hills of the Eastern Ghats. Also called the “Jewel of the South”,Yercaud is Popular called as the “Poor man’s Ooty”.

RajaRajeswari Temple History :  Sri Raja Rajeswari Temple in Yercaud is devoted to the Hindu Goddess Sri Raja Rajeswari a form of Goddess Shakti.This temple was established in the year 1983, by Tirukovilur Thapovanam Srila Sri Gnananada Giri Swamigal Parampara Disciple, Swami Poornanda Giri. The temple is currently managed by V Sri, son of the founder. 

Sri Raja Rajeswari is considered as the goddess amongst all other gods that appear in the Hindu  religious , the idol of goddess Sri Raja Rajeswari is placed on top of Sada Shiva the goddess in a sitting posture who is 4.5 feet tall The deity of this temple is said to be the goddess of all gods in the Hindu Pantheon. 

The idol of the main goddess is encircled by the idols of other Hindu Gods such as Lords Rudra, Vishnu, Lakshmi, Brahma and Saraswathi.this is another rare temple in India where an idol of Lord Bramha is worshipped, the first site being the Bramha Temple in Pushkar. 

It is believed that by worshipping the goddess in the shrine, one can attain wealth and prosperity along with spirituality.The temple’s architecture and scenic ambiance make it a tourist attraction worthy of your time.
