Pine Forest, Kodaikanal Overview : 

Pine Forest is situated In Kodaikanal hill town Palani hill range in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu, South India.Pine Forest is one of the most famous tourist spots Kodaikanal  you will see the  mesmerizing nature around which has been preserved to till date an important preserved heritage in the town.


 History of Pine Forest, Kodaikanal : 

In the year 1906 Mr.H.D Bryant from Madurai started the development of the Pine Forest plantation. He planted the Pine Tree all over the Kodaikanal. Especially from the Solar Observatory plant to Pillar Rock. 

Thus the result of Pine Forest Kodaikanal the trees to grown this place is changed as one of the main tourist places in Kodaikanal.Even until today, it remains to be a well-preserved heritage of Kodaikanal. 

Pine trees, in addition to Shola and Eucalyptus trees, are found in abundance in many parts of Kodaikanal.The entire Pine forests appear gray with dried cones and leaves. This forest is surrounded by vegetation of mushrooms, often called as magic mushrooms,because these supposedly cause hallucinations.    


There are two most popular pine forests in KodaiKanal : 

The are known as Pine Forest 1 and 2. 

Pine Forest 1 : is located on the observatory road near the Solar Observatory. This Pine Forest is comparatively crowded with the tourists. A lot of local vendors selling fresh carrots and fruits can be found at the entrance of the forest. 

Pine Forest 2 is located near Moir Point. Pine Forest 2 is generally not crowded like Pine Forest 1. It is unusual to find the vendors in this forest. The horse riding options are available here. Thus, this place is more attractive than Pine Forest 1. 

Activities at Pine Forest Kodaikanal : 

Photography : Pine forest is famous for its dense trees, it’s well known for filming celebrated songs and movies in the south Indian cinema industry. Besides that, you can always bring your camera to capture some magic of nature. The forest wears a gorgeous reddish colour. 

Horse Ride : A Horse ride is available at a minimal price. It will be an exhilarating moment for you. It’ll be suitable for Kids or ladies,Not for Men’s. In contrast, at weekend days the horses will be fulfilled every moment.Horse ride will make more fun.
