VOC Park and  Zoo is located in ATT Colony in Gopalapuram At a distance of 2 km from Coimbatore Junction Tamilnadu. VOC Park  is  Also known as V.O. Chidambaranar Park is managed by Coimbatore city Corporation.

VOC Zoo & Park was established in the year 1965 in an extent of 7 acres and is named after freedom fighter V O Chidambaram Pillai. The park is divided into several sections, each offering a unique experience for visitors.

One of the park's main attractions is the zoo the park houses around 890 animals including 335 birds, 106 mammals, and 54 reptiles. The park and zoo is a preferred picnic spot for families and kids to have a wonderful time .

The kids play area is fully equipped with Swings, See-Saw, and Slides. There's enough seating arrangement for the parents to sit and keep a close eye on their children as they have fun in the play area.

Aquarium and a Jurassic Park equipped with the models of the dinosaurs  The complete information about the dinosaur is provided in front of the model where not just children but even adults can have fun.

The park authorities also operate a toy train for the kids. It is a short ride that takes a complete round of the park. It is a perfect place to get the imagination running to build stories.

The ground of the park has a musical fountain installed. Every evening, the musical fountain plays the old melodies of the Indian Cinema , it is also utilized for hosting the events like the Independence Day and Republic Day.

 

VOC park also holds the memory of the 2017 Jallikattu protest conducted by the youngsters in Coimbatore which was one of the biggest protests conducted in the state of Tamil Nadu after the country’s independence.

 

The park has over 200 species of trees including Sandalwood. A rosy pelican hatchling was born in the zoo after 14 yrs, this species is known to have a low fertility rate.

 

Fairs, exhibitions, annual events, and several arts and cultural events that are organized in this park. There is also a restaurant in the park premises where one can gorge on some delectable snacks and beverages, such as tea, coffee, cold drinks, sandwiches, burgers, noodles, etc. during your visit.
