Birala Waterfalls or Birla Waterfalls is located 2 km from Valparai, Birala Waterfalls is located in the Sholayar Estate of Ms.Jayshree Tea Industries Ltd, (Birla group) and surrounded by lush green tea fields.
Birla Falls is formed over the Vellamalai Tunnel River The waterfalls originate from the springs in the Grass Hills at the Valparai hill ranges and then proceed to form the perennial Nadumalai River which flows through the town of Valparai.
The sight of the waters cascading down the mountain peaks, dropping from one rock to another to flow freely along with the river is in itself a sight which fascinated you.
If you want to see the Birala Waterfall in all of its glory, the best months to go are February, March, April, and May. It is advised that you avoid visiting between June and January because the water volume typically remains very low to virtually dry.
Bathing in the falls is strictly prohibited as it provides drinking water to the surrounding region.
