Yercaud is a hill station in Salem, district of Tamil Nadu, South India.At a height of 4,970 feet on the Shevaroy Hills of the Eastern Ghats. Also called the “Jewel of the South”,Yercaud is Popular called as the “Poor man’s Ooty”. 

Tipperary Viewpoint Yercaud is very close to yercaud lake Situated 2 km away from the Yercaud Bus Stand at the Southernmost end of Yercaud,the Tippery Viewpoint can be reached by taking the Tippery Road en route which one is likely to come across some breathtaking views. 

From this viewpoint one can see the Elephant Tooth Rocks. These rocks are pure white in color and are believed to have formed when a meteorite fell on earth.

 

This pure white rock is really an amazing structure among the black granite rocks of this hilly region.Elephant Tooth Rocks, which are said to be the remains of some meteorites which fell on the face of Earth, can be seen and enjoyed from the Tippery Point. 

Tipperary Estate was once a hotel catering to the elite of British India from 1930 to 1940 AD. The night view of Salem from this spot is really fantastic.The adventure lovers also list down this place as one of their favourites for carrying out treks and other adventurous activities. 

Trekking is one of the major activities that are organised in this area.This destination is also known for its beautiful rocks and caves that are ideal for exploration.

Best Time To Visit Tipperary Viewpoint  Yercaud : The perfect time to visit the Tippery Viewpoint is from October to June avoiding the monsoon season. During May since the summer festival is celebrated during this time which consists of fairs, flower and dog shows, and boat races.
