Subramanya Temple (Kartikeya Temple ) is an ancient temple, dedicated to Lord Murugan in Kodaikanal, situated in the middle of nature on a hilltop and said to be 3000 years old.

Subramanya temple, also known as Kartikeya Temple Dedicated to Lord Subramanya, the temple is located at a height of 135 meters and the pilgrim needs to undertake a 659 step climb to reach the temple.The main deity in this temple is Lord Subramanya or Dhandayuthapani that means holding a stick as a weapon in hand.

In the month of January when the temple festival Thaipusam is celebrated. The month of April when the Panguni Uthiram festival is conducted is also a good time to visit this temple when it is decorated and is filled with vibrancy and enthusiasm.

Reach Kodaikanal by Road

Madurai is the place where the nearest airport to Kodai is located and is just 120km away from the hill station. Madurai Airport is well connected to other main cities of India and for that, it has daily flights. First priority is Madurai Airport for reaching Kodai and the second one is Coimbatore airport which is about 180km from Kodai. After reaching Madurai and Coimbatore, one can hire taxis .
