Moir Point is located in kodaikanal in Dindigul district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu,Moir Point,Situated at the entrance of the forest which leads up all the way to the exquisite Berijam Lake, Moir Point is one of the most significant viewpoints present in Kodaikanal.

The place is named after Sir Thomas Moir who started constructing the Goschen Road in 1929 CE. There is a monument which mentions this and stands on the road joining the Kodaikanal-Berijam Lake. Since this place offers amazing views of the valleys, it remains one of the most crowded places in Kodaikanal.

The Moir Point is situated at the place where the first grass was cut by Sir Thomas Moir to build the Goschen Road. Until 1929, the Moir Point was known as Fore Mile Road. The importance of the place lies in the long history that is associated with it wherein the entry of unauthorised people is barred.

One gets a refreshing bird's viewpoint of the hills along with the villages which surround the region. Being a calm and serene place, tourists get to experience an ideal ambience where they can rejuvenate and unwind at the Moir Point.

One can undertake numerous activities here including indulging in photography sessions of the beautiful views offered by this area or visiting the very famous Kodaikanal Golf Club to enjoy a game of golf. Even non-members can get an entry into the club by paying a nominal charge.

As for the nature lovers, sitting beside the nearby Berijam Lake witnessing the sunset view makes up for something. There is also a small park here, offering decent space to sit and enjoy the view at ease. This place is worth spending time at.In addition to this, tourists can also visit the famous Kodaikanal Golf Club to enjoy a game of golf.

By paying a nominal fee, non members are also allowed entry into the club. Nature lover can visit the nearby lakes, such as Berijam Lake or the Kodai Lake, to enjoy a dazzling sunset view.

How To Reach Moir Point :

Situated at a distance of 10 km from the Kodaikanal Bus Stand, Moir Point lies on the way to another famous sightseeing lake named Berijam Lake, 3 km to the Pillar Rocks. The site is very much accessible by road and can be easily reached by hiring an auto rickshaw or a cab. One can also drive all the way up there in a private vehicle.
