Bear Shola Falls is located at a  distance of 3 kms from Kodaikanal Bus Station Bear Shola Falls is a tall waterfall in a Reserve forest.Height of the falls is about 40 feet and the water drops into a small pool. Swimming here is safe if the water flow is not fierce.

The place gets its name because in the earlier days this place was frequented by bears who came to drink water here,Bear Shola Falls are also a part of the Parappar River, which is known as Tevankarai Aar as it flows downhill.

There is a short walking path that will lead you up the waterfalls from where concrete path leads the way to a short trek of around a kilometre which runs deep in the woods. 

On reaching the falls, trekkers come across the hill route, which is accessible by motored vehicles. A concrete pathway takes them on a short trek into the jungles. With the charisma of Bear Shola Falls in Kodaikanal as the background, trekking in this area is a great way to refresh and relax oneself.

After trekking back to the base, trekkers can enjoy a lazy noon by the side of bubbly waters of Bear Shola Falls. the dense forests coupled with the chirping of birds, Bear Shola Falls is a little heaven. The falls offer best views just after monsoon during the months of September & October. in during the rainy season the water level is at its fullest and thus most beautiful. During non-monsoon season, there is not much water in the falls.
