Yelagiri formally Known as Vellore Yelagiri (also spelled Elagiri at times) is a hill station in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, India, situated off the Vaniyambadi-Tirupattur road. Located at an altitude of 1,110.6 metres above Mean Sea Level and spread across 30 km, the Yelagiri village .

 

Jalagamparia waterfall is 10kms from Yelagiri. It can be reached by trek 6 km long  since the road to the fall is almost closed. Therefore, to reach Jalagamparai falls, one needs to trek for about an hour and a half.

 

The main source of this waterfall of Attaaru river flowing through the valleys of Yelagiri Hills,Jalagamparai Waterfall at the height of 15 metres, this spectacular waterfall is also an ideal spot where one can indulge in nature and landscape photography.

 

The waterfall is also famous for medicinal properties since it is quite rich with medicinal herbs.It is believed that bathing in this waterfall cures diseases because it passes through various herbal plants in the hills.

 

The waterfall looks spectacular throughout the year except for the summer season when the stream dries up.Besides, there is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva called Jalagamparai Murugan Temple located within a building constructed in the shape of a Lingam.

 

Jalagamparai Waterfall  maintained by the Forest Department, is located around four km from the foot of the Yelagiri Hills.
