Yercaud is a hill station in Salem, district of Tamil Nadu, South India.At a height of 4,970 feet on the Shevaroy Hills of the Eastern Ghats. Also called the “Jewel of the South”,Yercaud is Popular called as the “Poor man’s Ooty”.
Kottachedu Teak Forest is located 11 km from Yercaud town on the Yercaud – Kuppanur Road.Kottachedu Teak Forest It’s basically a land full of trees, a river supported by a dam, Kottachedu region was inhabited by the tribes around the hills.
It was left deserted when the local tribes deserted it after a plague struck the people of the land.These lands utilized by the Government for Teak Wood plantation.
