Yercaud is a hill station in Salem, district of Tamil Nadu, South India.At a height of 4,970 feet on the Shevaroy Hills of the Eastern Ghats. Also called the “Jewel of the South”,Yercaud is Popular called as the “Poor man’s Ooty”. 

Rose Garden Yercaud It is located close to lady's and gent's seat road in Yercaud.At a distance of 2 km from Yercaud Bus Stand and 3 km from Yercaud Lake,Rose Garden has a good collection of variety and colorful roses welcome you to get lost in the fragrance as you walk around the green space. 

Rose Garden is divided in to different sections like foliage garden, topiary garden, bonsai garden, butterfly garden, herbal garden, rock garden, water garden and sensory garden.nature lovers as one can come across the most beautiful, colorful and rare variety of plants.

 

The other areas of attraction are the Orchidarium and the green house Spread across 18.4 hectares, the National Orchidarium is established in the year 1963. 

There are 3000 trees and 1800 shrubs grown in Orchidarium. It is the third largest Orchidarium in India and is one of two Orchidariums run by the Botanical Survey of India. 

The Orchidarium is home to about 30 endangered species of orchids. It has a large collection of native orchids. A must look plant is a rare tree of Shevaroys Bombax, which is multiplied in this farm. 

Yercaud is also famous for the beautiful Kurinji flower that blooms once in every twelve years and the Botanical Garden houses plenty of rare flowers including lady’s slipper orchid and vernonia shevaroyensis.

 

Rose season is from March to June and hence in other months of the year there may not be many roses to see.Rose Garden has a nursery inside the garden provides you to purchase plants.
