Yercaud is a hill station in Salem, district of Tamil Nadu, South India.At a height of 4,970 feet on the Shevaroy Hills of the Eastern Ghats. Also called the “Jewel of the South”,Yercaud is Popular called as the “Poor man’s Ooty”. 

Pagoda Point or Pyramid Point Yercaud Located At a distance of 4.5 km from Yercaud Bus Stand, Pagoda Point is a viewpoint located on the eastern part of Yercaud Hills. 

Pagoda Point or Pyramid Point Yercaud Overview : 

Pagoda Point or Pyramid Point is a beautiful viewpoint a panoramic view of the entire town of Salem as well as the neighbouring village of Kakambadi. 

From Pagoda viewpoint you can see the twists and turns of the 21 hairpin bends of Yercaud can be seen from this spot as they envelop themselves around the hills. 

The place has got its name due to the presence of four mysterious piles of stones arranged in the form of a pyramid resembling temple towers a Pagoda give the location its unique name Also known as Pyramid Point. 

The temple towers is built by the local malayali Tribes.The Pyramid or Pagoda Point is a cultural landmark for the Malayali tribes of Yercaud. 

The hills of Yercaud are home to the Malayalam-speaking tribes of the Eastern Ghats. These tribes have lived here since the dawn of human settlement, and the hills bear the marks of their journey through time. The pyramid here could well be one such mark, an ancient spot for a ritual or perhaps a shelter in the wilderness. 


There is a small temple built by the locals, the Pagoda Point has a Lord Sri Rama Temple positioned in-between the stones which is a shrine dedicated to two anionic stones held in high reverence among Malayalis.
 

which is an important pilgrimage site for local people and tribes. Apart from attracting the devotees, Pagoda Point is also known for the heavenly beauty and wonderful surroundings, 

The sunrise and sunsets at this viewpoint are quite lovely, It is advised to visit the place in the morning or evening time, Late evenings allow visitors to view the magnificent panoramic view of a lit-up Salem 

The weather is pleasant with an extremely peaceful ambience one can relax and enjoy the beauty of the nature.
