Coonoor was one of Hill stations established by
the British Raj in the Nilgiri Hills (1850 meters (6070 feet) above sea level),They
also built a summer Bungalow for the governor in Ooty to relax during the
summer season.
All Saints Church is Built 163 years ago, the one of the oldest Anglican churches in
Coonoor, but is also considered as
the the most perfectly maintained church
in India, both inside and out.
The Dark Wood and vaulted roofing attracts lots of Devotees The Window Glass of this Church is well painted and it's eye catching, there lie some fine antique items such as an ancient pipe organ,
fine wooden interiors and impressive stained glass
windows that all add up to its classical
appearance and augments the colonial charm, giving you the feeling
of a typical British country-side with a
building of huge dome-like structures.
There is also a graveyard in this Church for people who worked hard in military, the church and the planter community of India and died there.
All Saints Church is one of the ancient churches
of the hill station and has become a must-visit sightseeing place in Ooty. It
is a great spot for tourists to interact with the local residents of the town.
